Jump-Start your skating with Learn To Skate USA the only USA ice skating program endorsed by U.S. Figure Skating, USA Hockey, and U.S. Speedskating. Learn to Skate USA via Southern Wisconsin Skating School offers a progressive curriculum that starts with non- skaters through advanced levels of skating, i.e. recreational, figure, hockey and speed skating - tots through adults. Specialty classes include: Accelerated - Introduction to Jumps and Spins - Art on the Edge and Powerskating. Not all Speciality classes are offered each session. Hockey 1- 4 classes focus on skating techniques specific to hockey players as well as an introduction to powerskating for hockey players.

What to Wear
We recommend warm clothing that allows freedom
of movement, and gloves or mittens. We also require
that Snowplow Sam and Hockey skaters (ages 3-6)
wear helmets (bike or hockey) . For all classes, please
allow at least 15 minutes to put on your child's skates.
A basic skate of quality is highly recommended! Purchase at a shop that specifically sells and knows ice skates. Department store quality is not recommended, Crossovers Pro shop at Madison Ice Arena,, Verona Ice arena and the Waunakee Ice Arena has a 6 month rental program or you may purchase used or new skates of the quality we recommend at affordable prices.
Class Schedule/Structure/Fees
Session IV Spring - Saturday Mornings 11:20AM -12:20 PM april 1 through May 20.
*Basic Skills, Snowplow Sam, Adult, Teen, Hockey, and Freeskate Levels: 30 min class + 30 min practice time. You may register for an additional class at a reduced second class rate.
CLASS STRUCTURE
*Snowplow Sam (3-6 year olds)
*Basic 1-6 (7 years and older)
*Pre Freestyle and Freeskate 1-6 (must have passed Basic 6)
*Adult 1-6 (18 and older)
*Teen Basic 1-6 (13 and older)
*Hockey (no age requirement) One must pass Basic -3 in order to enroll into Hockey 3 (or 4)
*Power Skating for figure Skaters (Pre-freeskate through Freeskate 4); Freeskate 4 through 6 Should take the Powerskating Class that is offered on the SWFSC "contract Ice".
Power Skating for Hockey Players (must have passed Hockey 4) This is conducted as a "Clinic" only for hockey players.
*Beginning Synchronized Skating (must have passed Basic 2)
*Specialty Classes
Art on the Edge, and Accelerated, as well as our beginner and lower level classes meet during the first
30 minutes, and our higher levels and freeskate classes meet during the second 30 minutes. Class times are SUBJECT TO CHANGE based on enrollment. Please check the schedule on the first night of class. PARENTS CAN SKATE FOR FREE WITH THEIR CHILD DURING THE 30 MINUTES OF PRACTICE TIME. PARENTS MUST BE IN SKATES AND MUST SIGN THE WAIVER.
NO SHOES ALLOWED.
Anyone under 18 who is not enrolled may NOT be on the ice at any time unless they have a sibling practice pass. See
details on the back panel under Sibling Practice Pass.
Please register early as classes may fill. Once registered, there
are NO REFUNDS! Registrations received after the deadline are automatically charged a late registration fee of $15.00.
